The body’s musculoskeletal system is a machine built to deal with forces. Whether walking down the street or completing the decathalon, our bodies’ structures withstand an infinite number of forces on a minute-to-minute basis. It is the efficiency and symmetry with which we deal with these forces that determines whether pain and injury occur.
Pain is essentially a radar, notifying us when something is wrong with a tissue. In most cases, the cascade of events that lead to the tissue being damaged or irritated is an inefficient or asymmetrical handling of forces. What does that mean? We aren’t moving well.
This is where Dr. Caronia comes in. The only way to effectively deal with pain and injury is to eliminate strain on the affected tissues, facilitate healing, establish proper balance, and re-introduce activity. Moving well leads to long-term, sustainable musculoskeletal health.
Dr. Caronia provides individual, specialized care in order to help his patients achieve this goal quickly and easily. His focus is on providing exceptional treatment using whatever combination of manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and functional training is necessary, precisely tailored to each patient.
